DR BETH LYNCH

MBChB MRCGP DFFP DRCOG Dip Pall Med. Certificate Clinical Education Qualified Leeds 1998.

Joined the practice in 2010. Interested in all aspects of primary care. Special interest in palliative care.

DR MATTHEW BEST

MBBS BSc MRCGP

Qualifed St George's Hospital Medical School, London 2005 Dr Best joined Yelverton Surgery in 2011. After medical school he trained in the South West, completing GP training in a range of inner city and suburban practices in Plymouth. He has experience of Palliative Care, having worked at St Lukes’ Hospice. He is interested in all aspect of Primary Care and has experience in Dermatology. He undertakes joint injections alongside Dr Giles. Dr Best has a passion for medical politics and represents General Practice and patients across the whole of Devon with a small team of colleagues. He is a Medical Secretary for Devon Local Medical Committee (LMC) which works with hospitals, the commissioners and NHS England to ensure Primary Care and patients have a voice in high level discussions.

DR LISA KELLY

MB BS BSc (Hons) DRCOG DFFP. Qualified St Mary's, London (1993)

Dr Kelly has a particular interest in family planning and women's health.

DR LAURA BURRING

BMBS Peninsula Medical School, BSc in Emergency Care (Hons), MRCGP. Qualified in 2010.

Dr Burring joined the practice in 2019, she enjoys all aspects of family medicine, particularly child and women’s health.

DR EVYATAR AVIVI

Dr Evyatar Avivi joined us in August 2020. He qualified as a doctor from the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, Slovakia in 2014 and then came to Plymouth to undertake further training to become a family doctor. He enjoys all aspects of family medicine, especially Ear, Nose and Throat. Dr Avivi will be instrumental in developing our IT services and has a keen interest in educating medical students on placement at the practice.

DR PAUL GILES

Paul is an experienced Doctor who has worked in the South West of England since graduating from the University of Bristol in 1993. He trained at Yelverton Surgery as a Registrar in 1995 and re-joined us in October 2020 having been a GP in Plympton for 22 years. Paul has a particular interest and expertise in Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. He currently works in the Sentinel iCATS Knee Clinic at Mt Gould Hospital seeing and assessing knee problems referred from Primary Care.

DR CLAIRE FOX

BM BCh MA MRCP MRCGP, Dip. Tropical Health, PG Cert in Med Edu.

Dr Fox spent time in Hospital Medicine prior to training as a GP registrar at Yelverton Surgery in 2003. She is pleased to return to Yelverton as a Partner, having worked as a GP in Plymouth for the past 15 years. Claire is interested in all aspects of Family Medicine, especially Cardiology and Neurology. Dr Fox is also an Associate Dean for Postgraduate Training in the Southwest.

Nurses

Our practice nurses skills include immunisations, blood pressure measurements, dressings, dietary and weight advice, some contraceptive services, cervical smears and health screening. In addition to this they also hold our asthma and diabetic clinics.
